Policies
Our practice policies and what to expect when you visit us.
Billing Policy
The General Practitioner is a mixed-billing practice. We privately bill most consultations, with a Medicare rebate available to all eligible patients.
Bulk billing is available for the following patients during Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm:
- Concession card holders (Health Care Card, Pension Card)
- Children under 16 years of age
- DVA card holders
For a detailed breakdown of consultation fees, Medicare rebates, and out-of-pocket costs, please visit our Fees page.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible, ideally at least 2 hours before your scheduled time.
Late cancellations and missed appointments (no-shows) may incur a fee and prevent other patients from accessing available appointments.
Privacy
We are committed to protecting your personal health information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988.
Your medical records are stored securely and will only be shared with your explicit consent or as required by law. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Complaints & Feedback
We welcome feedback and are committed to addressing any concerns promptly. If you have a complaint or suggestion, please speak with our reception staff or practice manager, or contact us by email or phone.
If you feel your concern has not been adequately resolved, you may contact the Health Complaints Commissioner Victoria at hcc.vic.gov.au.
Medical Records
You have the right to access your medical records. Requests for copies of your records can be made at reception or by contacting the practice. Please allow reasonable time for processing.
A fee may apply for the preparation of medical record summaries or transfer of records to another provider.
Informed Consent
Before any examination, procedure, or treatment, your doctor will explain what is involved, the potential risks and benefits, and any alternatives. You have the right to ask questions and to decline treatment at any time.
For certain procedures (such as minor skin procedures), written consent may be required.
