Lifestyle and preventative medicine

We are eager to prevent disease as well as treat it. Help to stop cigarette smoking, alcohol moderation, diet, stress management, weight loss and exercise prescriptions are just some of the issues we are happy to discuss.

Women’s health

Our doctors have a wealth of experience in dealing with women’s health issues including family planning and contraception, cervical screening (Pap tests), gynaecological concerns, mental health, preventative health, chronic disease management, infertility and pregnancy termination. We understand that some women may prefer to consult a female GP. If so, patients can make an appointment with Dr Lakshmie Kariyawasam or Dr Sapna Walles.

Men’s health

Our doctors have a wealth of experience in dealing with men’s health issues including prostate issues, testicular disease, fertility and sexual issues. We can also assist with skin checks, mental health and preventative medicine. Complete men’s checks are available and worthwhile. If you prefer to consult a male GP, you can make an appointment with Dr Billy Stoupas.

Sexual health

Our doctors are able to discuss sexual health concerns including sexual issues, fertility and contraception. We are also able to screen and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV testing, treatment and follow up. We are able to provide you with sexual health information, and are here to provide you with support.

Mental Health

Our caring doctors are here to support you with any mental health concerns you may have. We are able to complete mental health care plans in conjunction with local psychologists in cases where it is appropriate to do so. If you require an urgent mental health consultation please inform us as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Childhood health and immunisations

Vaccination is a simple, safe and effective way to protect children from harmful diseases. All children should be immunised against the major childhood diseases and a certificate of vaccination history is required for children to attend schools and childcare centres in Victoria. Please inform the staff when booking your child in for vaccinations so we can book a suitable appointment. We are able to record details of vaccinations through the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) to assist with family payments and school/childcare enrolment.

Adult immunisations

Vaccinations are important for adults to ensure they are adequately protected from harmful diseases. Speak to one of our doctors to discuss which vaccinations you may be eligible for as part of the National Immunisation Program and which vaccinations we recommend to best protect your health. We strongly recommend yearly influenza vaccination for all patients. Additionally, we strongly recommend yearly influenza vaccination and Pneumococcal vaccination for those aged over 65 and for those with chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and those who are immunosuppressed.

Skin checks

Full body skin checks are provided by our GPs who have special interests and further qualifications in skin cancer medicine. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting Australians. We encourage all patients to have yearly skin checks and regular checks of any skin lesions. We encourage you to make an appointment with one of our doctors to have an initial skin check and discuss what monitoring or treatment is best suited to your individual case. We are able to perform skin excisions and biopsies on site should they be required as determined by your doctor.

Travel advice

Most travel destinations carry some health risks. For anyone planning overseas travel we recommend you see us at least 6 weeks prior to travel for region specific travel advice for immunisations and education regarding specific precautions. In some cases, multiple vaccinations may be required prior to your trip, so we recommend you seek advice well in advance to your intended departure. Those who have multiple health issues are strongly recommended to speak to us for advice prior to travel so we can best manage your health conditions and take necessary precautions.

Sports medicine

We are able to assess and treat most sports injuries in conjunction with local physiotherapists. Our doctors, together with local dieticians, podiatrists, psychologists and exercise physiologists are able to provide advice and guidance regarding nutrition, training programs and injury prevention.
