Dr Vasilios “Billy” Stoupas

MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, ClinDipPallCare, BBMedSci (Hons)

Dr StoupasDr Billy Stoupas is a specialist General Practitioner (GP) and the principal of The General Practitioner. Dr Stoupas had always known he wanted to pursue a career in General Practice and tailored his studies to achieve his chosen vocation.  Dr Stoupas started his journey into medicine at Monash University where he completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with an additional year of research, an Honors Degree, for which he achieved First Class Honours. He then went on to complete a postgraduate Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Deakin University. 

Dr Stoupas has since completed a Clinical Diploma of Palliative Care Medicine, a Diploma of Child Health and the practical component of the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has also completed a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery. Dr Stoupas is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Lakshmie Kariyawasam

Dr Kariyawasam has been practicing as a medical practitioner since 1994. She is actively involved in continuing education and has an interest in Women’s Health, paediatrics and geriatrics.

Dr Kariyawasam undertakes chronic disease care plans and mental health care plans.

Dr Kariyawasam has worked at the clinic site since 2003 and is well known and respected by our patients.

Dr Sapna Walles


B.Med, MD (UNSW), MIPH (Hons.), FRACGP

Dr Sapna Walles completed her Bachelor of Medical Studies, Doctor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2014. She has since worked in hospitals across Victoria and NSW, gaining experience in paediatrics, psychiatry, adult and emergency medicine.

The opportunity to get to know and care for patients across all ages, with a wide variety of clinical presentations is what drew Dr Sapna to general practice.

Dr Sapna obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019. She has undertaken further training with a Masters of International Public Health, and certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine, Dermoscopy and Reproductive & Sexual health.

Outside of medicine, Sapna enjoys travel, latin dancing, running and learning new languages.

Dr Amila Munasinghe


FRACGP, MBBS, FRACGP, IBLM (Lifestyle Medicine Physician), Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, Certificate in Dermoscopy

Dr Amila completed his primary medical degree in Sri Lanka.
Following graduation he gained experience in General Surgery, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics and

Ophthalmology. He then worked in Public Health in Sri Lanka training health care workers in Family
Planning, Disaster Management, Maternal Health, Family Violence and Gender Equality. 

In 2019, Dr Amila gained experience working in Emergency Medicine in the UK.

In 2010 he and his family migrated to Australia, where he then worked in Emergency Medicine at
The Canberra Hospital and Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Dr Amila commenced his General Practice career in 2016. He has special interests in Lifestyle
Medicine and Wellness, Chronic disease management, Obesity management and Skin Cancer

Dr Amila loves reading, writing, Sci-Fi and detective dramas, travelling with his wife and 2 teenagers,
and of course, a good game of cricket.
