Dr Vasilios “Billy” Stoupas

MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, ClinDipPallCare, BBMedSci (Hons)

Dr StoupasDr Billy Stoupas is a specialist General Practitioner (GP) and the principal of The General Practitioner. Dr Stoupas had always known he wanted to pursue a career in General Practice and tailored his studies to achieve his chosen vocation.  Dr Stoupas started his journey into medicine at Monash University where he completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with an additional year of research, an Honors Degree, for which he achieved First Class Honours. He then went on to complete a postgraduate Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Deakin University. 

Dr Stoupas has since completed a Clinical Diploma of Palliative Care Medicine, a Diploma of Child Health and the practical component of the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has also completed a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery. Dr Stoupas is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Lakshmie Kariyawasam

Dr Lakshmie Kariyawasam


Dr Kariyawasam has been practicing as a medical practitioner since 1994. She is actively involved in continuing education and has an interest in Women’s Health, paediatrics and geriatrics.

Dr Kariyawasam undertakes chronic disease care plans and mental health care plans.

Dr Kariyawasam has worked at the clinic site since 2003 and is well known and respected by our patients.

Dr Sapna Walles


B.Med, MD (UNSW), MIPH (Hons.), FRACGP

Dr Sapna Walles completed her Bachelor of Medical Studies, Doctor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2014. She has since worked in hospitals across Victoria and NSW, gaining experience in paediatrics, psychiatry, adult and emergency medicine.

The opportunity to get to know and care for patients across all ages, with a wide variety of clinical presentations is what drew Dr Sapna to general practice.

Dr Sapna obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019. She has undertaken further training with a Masters of International Public Health, and certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine, Dermoscopy and Reproductive & Sexual health.

Outside of medicine, Sapna enjoys travel, latin dancing, running and learning new languages.

Dr Esther Tan



Dr Esther Tan completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales. Since then, she has worked in various hospitals around South Australia, Tasmania and New South Wales in various specialities.

Dr. Tan obtained her RACGP Fellowship after completing her training in regional Victoria. As a GP, Dr. Tan enjoys the interactions with patients from babies to adults and managing a variety of presentations.  

Outside of work, she enjoys her time with her little baby who keeps her very busy. When she can, she enjoys swimming, going to the gym and baking.

Dr Leo Popp


Dr Popp Graduated from Melbourne University in 1980 with 3rd Class Honours in Medicine and Surgery. He was invited to sit the Jamieson Prize in Medicine which is for the top 20 students.

Dr Popp completed his intern year at Maroondah hospital which included rotations in Gynaecology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology and Casualty. He then completed a residency at Dandenong Hospital working in Intensive Care, General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Special Care Nursery.

In 1983, Dr Popp became a General Practitioner at Poath Road Medical Clinic focusing on Child and Family Medicine.

Dr Popp is affiliated with Monash University’s Department of General Practice assisting with clinical training of medical students and has previously lectured in Medical Ethics.
